That’s what the commercial promises,
While not the same,
I ran in the soup today, and
It was rough.
The whole week could have used some therapy,
Our anger at draconian measures,
Our anger at the callous and targeted attacks,
Has got to come to an end
Because black lives matter.
We’ve tired of moral justification,
We’ve tired of the heat’s rationalizations,
We’ve tired of the orange one,
His ways looking less like an elected official of the people
And more like a dictator we’ve always opposed.
Hopefully, we get the commercial’s benefits
By hanging onto to the lessons learned,
Listening to the dialogue started,
Then everyone must get out and vote
Lest we get stuck in the soup.
