Three Haiku From Yesterday

In his MasterClass, Billy Collins shared that he wrote haiku like scales. Haiku was part of his development as a craftsman. I’m no Billy Collins, but I’ve been doing the same since the start of the year. While I didn’t think of it as practice, three a day has been the goal. (Maybe that’s why I’m no BC.)

I.

Colleagues nevermore
Relationship betrayal
Your now on my list

II.

Through a closed window
A natural world exists
Squirrels climbing trees

III.

Angry attitudes,
Clenched prophets tell many lies
Don’t believe their smiles
