Cole Watts (Baseball Player, Eight Bars Parents)
My mom and dad are leading this whole thing
They don’t like my coach much.
They say he doesn’t know a thing,
I can’t say I disagree because my dad knows everything.
Since I was five, I’ve been doing push-ups,
Taking batting practice, going over situations.
I’ve been raised as a machine, but I don’t like me much,
I want to sit around, I want to be a kid.
When I get a chance, that’s what I do,
A beer here, a joint there,
It helps to keep me connected
To everything my parents want me away from.
So, I think my parents don’t know much,
They rail on a guy who is doing his best,
They don’t know him
Any better than they know me.
