Perspectives: 63/365

Robert Woods (A Local Dude)

Sometimes I just want to get away,
The folly of all this small town drama.
I wonder what it would be like living
In a much bigger city
Where the characters were faces,
Not people that I know from my bus route,
Or the coffee shop,
Or the florist,
Or wherever else we end up in Taylorville.

It’s not that I don’t like this town,
I do, but
The way that I get caught up in it all
Leaves me wanting to pass time in anonymity,
Minding my own business,
Clearing for takeoff
In a simple mindfulness that is peace.

No complaining,
No posturing,
No over-blowing stuff.
