Perspectives: 59/365

Robert Woods (A Local Dude)

In between talking to my boy
About colonoscopies and retirement,
We took a chance to talk through
This brew ha ha threatening
To raise the stink in Taylorville
Higher than that of the nearby compost farms
Down in East Trove.

We decided that the current odor
Brought by four families,
Was nothing more than a Scarlet Letter
Meets Lords of Creation
Softened with a bit of Andy Griffith’s Mayberry
Sown from the soil of Wilbur’s sty.
Bus drivers have a lot of time for reading and television.
