An aria of grunts and groans for the honor of sports,
Who could say which sounded better or
Would push the other off the Taylorville map?
The time had come for the music folks
To flex their muscles hitting just the right notes
And standing up to the funny wishbone
Of the sports-minded assassins.
An interesting thing happens during an unmasking,
Truth and reality somehow get played the same way
Even when people see things differently.
How either side could champion its enemy
For the purpose of destroying its calling
Is more than galling,
It’s pathetic or in the words of a president,
