Mark Watts (Grace’s Husband, Former Athlete)
I pounded the hardwoods
Spilling sweat all over the place.
We went at it,
Not with malice, but in the spirit of competition.
It was fun,
It was rough,
It was tumble.
It was Taylorville.
Now it’s not,
And I think it’s the coaches’ faults.
They don’t get the kids going,
They don’t teach fundamentals,
They don’t play the kids who should be playing,
They don’t keep the kids in the district.
So, since they don’t, we have petitioned to get rid of them.
This is Taylorville today, baby.
