Scott Thomson (Amy’s Husband, General Practitioner)
I’ve got my hands full of aches and pains,
Sneezes and coughs, and whatever else
Takes my attention away from medical research.
I thought I would be working in a lab,
Now I just fend off the cultures
My patients bring through the door.
I rarely get to see the result of my work,
I’m more Little Boy Blue yelling about the wolf
Slowly killing my patients.
I write the referrals,
I order the tests,
I put in the long hours.
Amy’s studio keeps her whole,
I dream of partnering with her
And making my business about wellness, not sickness.
She’s tough, though,
One of those angry pacifists,
I sure love her.
