An alias proved enough
To rent a car and drive to the bank
For a nameless man who acted tough
And was heading to the end of his plank.
He took hostages and claimed to have a bomb
All he asked was for money from the safe
He was not prepared for another Somme
With tear gas and bullets meant to strafe
The end came as they nearly always do
With the hostages getting out
Because the thief knew there was no sense in killing a few
So put the barrel up to his anonymous snout
If you can’t do the time,
Don’t do the crime.
