Cranium, bones of the head,
Engineered to protect our brains
From any trauma that might strike.
The sutures fused together
Make a nice fit for all the bones
Giving a shield to danger.
Once fixed, the bones don’t move much
Which two men riding a tandem motor cycle
Found while riding on Ocean Parkway.
A peddler’s wagon
With a horse pulling the load
Got in the way sending the cyclists flying.
They hit a light pole at sixty miles per hour
Testing the engineering of those bones in their heads.
The electric pole won.
Chris, truly a tragedy. Cleverly written poem, the final line, a lot of impact. ~ Mia
