Last night hate hit again
With people out for a night
Falling victim to an ideology
That seems not to value life.
I can’t understand this way
Of making a point
Anymore than I can wrap my head
Around other kinds of violence.
Why are we this way?
What drives people to such horror?
Who can answer?
Who can make it stop?
