Slap happy from summer.
The humidity took a holiday,
But it’s coming back today.
Really, it’s already here
Because I walked the dog this morning
In the cool, damp air
Of an August morning
And there is a fine sheen
Of perspiration across my lip
And my clothes are hanging
As if I took them
Out of the dryer too soon.
Oh, well,
Slap happy I’ll be.
