Bring A Sharpie. It’s A Party!

The varied ways people mark time
Should not be judged
By those making time move so slowly.
Crossing off days gives the calendar a
Dynamic anticipation for the completion
Of the pruning of local garden’s
Long dead bamboo
That has been caning certificated souls
For far too long.
The little network of bamboozling roots
Have made this plant so hard to get rid of
But now it’s going
And some unfortunate optimistic mope
Thought X-ing off the days
Might be a fitting tribute
To the day
When a shovel hit the ground,
Removed the spoiled soil,
Allowing a renewal to the hallowed fungal grounds
For times that were respectfully crossed off
By the Calendar-Racer Xer

Gotta marker?
