My Valentine arrived
Early this morning
Cascading through the dark
So full of energy
Accompanied by expectant cries
Too bad the screech
Was my cats
Alerting me to the waterfall
Flowing from my neighbor’s walls
Into my basement
Now fans blow lovingly
Over wet floors and sloppy shoes
