A ragged stuffed bear
Was jammed on a street pole
With an equally ragged bouquet of flowers
The little memorial in an alley of Philly
Spoke to the bleakness of this hood
Trash, charred telephone polls
And it seems a lost life
At least this soul
Was given a proper send off,
As spartan as it was,
For as the rest of this area
Is falling down
One spirit has been lifted up
Allowing a bit of beauty
Against the blight
