The day started with a pledge
To not become bothered
Sometimes that is hard
As a high school teacher
When the questions range from
Highly intellectual
To
Grossly inappropriate

Somehow on this day
When I’m answering questions
On statistical significance of sugar research studies
And
Thigh sticking scrotums
While making sure the young people
Understand how to write an essay
That is more than 140 characters long
So their scores will be significant
And their nether regions will remain cling free
I never lost it
Not once.

I am an adult.
