He’s right here next to me
Sound asleep through an awful Poison song
His slumbering yelp a curiosity
He spent too much time in his short life
Under the stress of a shelter
And maybe even worse before that
Now I’m wondering what this dream is that he is having
Have the fireworks from Longwood Gardens
Freaked him out
Has the crazy traffic next door put him on edge
Or is he just running in a field
With all the power his pittie frame can muster
Having the time of his life
What I do know
Is that he’s home now
A part of our family with all the comforts
Of beds, couches, and steady companionship
Sleep easy, Einstein,
All is good
