Hanging

He’s jealous this morning
First of my attention given to my cat
Second to the attention given to my iPad
All my canine friend wants is a peaceful nap
After our short walk
And his insanely quick breakfast

He’s done everything to keep
My focus on him
-Backed it up, sitting between my legs
-Pawed and gnawed with a little shadow boxing
-Jumped in my lap, showing belly, jowls flopping over
Finally, he has surrendered
Curling into a tight, sixty-five pound, pit bull ball
Falling into a deep breathing trance
Under the light of Saturday morning’s sun
And solidly placed on my left hip

It’s too bad he doesn’t know
How much he inspires me
Coming back from whatever
His early horrors were
To be such a cool hound
With nothing to be jealous of

  1. You could certainly see your skills within the work you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers like you who arent afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart. aebkfkfkeadkefdb
